Abstract
It is evident that the type of biological response elicited by an antitumor agent is governed not only by its intrinsic activity, but also by factors of (a) drug penetration or uptake into body fluids, (b) tissue localization, (c) anabolic or catabolic alterations, and (d) rate of elimination from the site of reaction. The study of these factors, together with observed toxicological effects and their relationship to dose levels and routes of administration, provides the clinician with useful information for the intelligent and effective use of these agents in man. Keywords
