Abstract
A procedure for isolating pure mast cells has been developed using Ficoll gradient centrifugation. A final purity of greater than 95% was achieved with a yield of about 75%. Non-specific release of histamine was very low (less than 1%) and the cells behaved normally to both artificial and natural histamine liberators. Keywords
