Abstract
Anion exchange resin IRA 401 has been shown to be an effective support material for anchoring of anionic carbonyl clusters. Cluster mobility on the polymer surface has been clearly observed by u.v.–visible, i.r., and photoelectron spectroscopic techniques. A polymer-supported species derived from a rhodium and platinum mixed-metal cluster shows positive activity for ring hydrogenation reactions which is absent in derivatives obtained from homonuclear clusters of either metal. Keywords
