Abstract
Recent eruptions of White Island volcano have shown an interesting cyclicity in the composition of ejecta during alternating strombolian and phreatomagmatic events. While strombolian eruptions elsewhere have been preceded by phreatomagmatic explosions, this form of cyclicity has not been noticed.Keywords
