Abstract
The problem of the management of patients suffering from chronic jaundice where the preoperative diagnosis cannot be made with certainty is discussed. Attention is drawn to the incidence of carcinoma of the hepatic ducts as a cause of jaundice and also to the histologic classification of these tumors. It would appear that these tumors do not grow rapidly. Operative cholangiographs in the diagnosis of these tumors are described. A detailed description of a thoracico-abdominal approach for these tumors is given. Keywords
