An analytic solution to elastic backscattering

Abstract
An approximate analytic expression is presented for the prediction of spectra obtained from nuclear elastic backscattering from elemental matter, e.g., 4He+ from Al. Beam energy straggle in the target and experimental resolution limitations are not considered.
