Abstract
A new species of sandfly, Psychodopygus lainsoni, is described from specimens captured in ‘ terra firme ’ rain forest at km 46 Altamira-Itaituba on the Transamazônica highway. In many respects the male resembles those of the squamiventris group, and the female is similar to those of other groups. Keywords
