Coordinate Free LAP

Abstract
Coordinate Free LAP (CFL) is a library of subroutines written in C intended to facilitate the construction of VLSI circuit layouts. The Operators of CFL generate new cells by forming combinations of existing cells using only relative positioning, that is without reference to a system of coordinates. CFL is able to assemble sets of large cells very quickly because its positioning and routing operations work from descriptions of the boundaries of cells and, therefore, avoid direct references to the geometry within cells.
