Abstract
Global Solar Energy has successfully scaled up CIGS PV production using roll-to-roll processes on flexible substrate over the last 18 months. Factories in two countries with a combined capacity greater than 75 MW have been brought into operation with dramatic increases in module efficiency, which can now exceed 13%. Similar progress is also evidenced in process reproducibility and product yield, which now exceeds 95% in electrical test. Gen1 product deployed in a 750 kWp field shows excellent energy yield and stability. Gen2 product has been successfully launched into rigid and non-rigid applications. One installation, at 820 kWp rating represents the largest CIGS rooftop installation in the world. Potential and plans for further gains are discussed in the context of module and device results. Keywords
