Abstract
The deutonymph of Epiphis rarior (Berlese, 1916), (Rhodacaridae: Rhodacaroidea), is shown by rearing experiments to be a species referable to the genus Iphidosoma Berlese. The deutonymph male and female are illustrated. A new subfamily, Epiphidinae, is based on Epiphis Berlese, 1916, and Iphidosoma and Stylochirus G. &R. Canestrini are included taxa. Iphidosoma pratensis Karg, 1965 is transferred to the genus Alliphis (Eviphididae). Copriphis janetski Schmölzer, 1956 is newly synonymized under Iphidosoma fimetarium (Müller, 1859). A weak mite–phoriant relationship is noted in deutonymphs of some species of Epiphis and Iphidosoma. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
