Abstract
An experimental program is described for the reduction of cigarette smoking, using three principles of learning: successive approximations (stimulus hierarchies), counterconditioning, and self-reinforcement. The failure to differentiate between experimental and control groups is discussed in terms of problems of dropouts and observation of extinction effects when treatment elements are withdrawn. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
