Experimental Control of Serum Calcium Levels in Vivo.

Abstract
Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid, a synthetic amino acid which forms an non-ionized soluble complex with Ca ion at physiological pH, was utilized by intraven., intraperit., intramusc. subcut. and percut. routes of admn. to regulate the systemic Ca levels in rabbit and human. It was found that simultaneous admn. of Mg ion with E.D.T.A.A. reversed the Ca-lowering action of the compound.
