Abstract
Changes from midlife to old age are described and conceptual models of adult development are discussed to debunk some commonly held stereotypes. Effects of biological change on behavior; age differences in learning, memory, and motivation; and age changes in intelligence and personality are considered, including implications for primary prevention, diagnosis, and social intervention. Keywords
