Abstract
Using the culture technique of adult bone marrow cells, chromosome analysis of the karyotype of 4 species and 2 sub-species of Ranidae were compared. R. temporaria temporaria L. and R. temporaria ornativentris Werner, although they differ morphologically, have basically the same karyotype. The karyotypes of R. japonica Gunther, R. nigromaculata Hallowell, R. rugosa Sch. and R. catesbiana Shaw, are similar to each other in both number and morphology. Two identificable features, however, were found to occur in R. nigromaculata and R. catesbiana. No significant morphological differences were found in comparing the karotypes of the sexes; thus no heteromorphic pair was present in either males or females. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
