Abstract
Xylocaine, being a mild vasoconstrictor, requires little epinephrine addition. Its toxicity is nil. The chief advantages are speed of action, smoothness and profundity of anesthesia. There seems to be a slight tendency for paresthesia of the mucous membranes. Anesthesia is complete for peritoneum as a topical anesthesia. Xylocaine is indicated as a local anesthetic with greater safety, greater speed and greater profundity wherever Procaine can be used as an injn. Keywords
