Abstract
Previous investigations have found that young children have poorer pure-tone auditory sensitivity than older children or adults. This study addressed the question of whether these age-related sensitivity differences are attributable to children having middle ear disorders that produce a conductive hearing loss or to differences in ear canal sound pressure at threshold. Results ruled out both of these possible explanations for the age effect. Keywords
