Abstract
Swollen and branched rhizoids are produced by flagellar axes in 7 spp. of hepatics from montane rain forest. Rhizoid branching is associated with contact with the substratum whereas swollen tips contain abundant fungal hyphae. [The 7 spp. are the following; Lepidozia ophiria, L. trichoides, Psiloclade clandestina, Zoopsis liukiuensis, Bazzania pectinata, Kurzia sp. and Andrewsianthus paniceus].This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
