Abstract
The reaction between π-C5H5(OC)3M–H (M = Mo or W) and Me3SiCHN2 provides the first example of a 1,3-organometallic insertion and the products π-C5H5(OC)2M·NN·CH2SiMe3 are the first stable alkylazo-compounds.
