Abstract
SUMMARY: The lack of interest in the causes of large kidneys is contrasted with concern over causes and significance of small kidneys. A classification of generalized renal enlargement is suggested. Examples of congenital solitary kidney, medullary sponge kidney, polycystic kidney, hydatid infection and infiltration of Hodgkin's disease are illustrated, and the diagnosis of these is discussed, with particular reference to medullary sponge kidney and related conditions. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
