Abstract
Moments of Simpson''s index of diversity are derived assuming species frequencies follow underlying Poisson distributions. The Pearson curves are used to approximate 95% confidence limits on the population diversity. The results are compared to confidence interval estimation using the jackknife procedure in a simulation study for small samples. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
