Abstract
The survival rate of hibernating dormice after whole-body irradiation with X-rays shows that the injuries from irradiation during the winter sleep are present in a latent state and becomes evident only after the awakening of the animals. If cysteine is supplied intraperitoneally at the time of wakening (21 days after irradiation) this sulfhydryl compound shows a protective effect. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
