Abstract
Formerly C. lunata and C. trifolii were separated on differences in spore size which have proved to be undependable. The hilum, which protrudes in C. trifolii and is inserted in C. lunata, is the most reliable character on which these spp. can be separated. It is considered that the gladiolus parasite should be distinguished as a special form of C. trifolii, to be known as C. trifolii (Kauffm.) Boed. f. sp. gladioli Parm. and Luttr.
