The bacterium Caulobacter crescentus carries out a distinct differentiation process during its life cycle. Cultures of the bacterium have been synchronized and an assay has been developed for monitoring the course of morphogenesis by the selective adsorption of radioactive RNA bacteriophage. Keywords
