Current Harmonics Generated by a Cluster of Electric Vehicle Battery Chargers

Abstract
This work analyzes the harmonic currents, apparent, active, reactive and distortion power associated with a cluster of electric vehicle taper-current type battery chargers, connected to a common bus. A Monte Carlo simulation using pseudorandum number generators taking into consideration the statistical distribution of the states of charge of the batteries and starting times of the chargers is the primary tool employed in this study.
