Abstract
A case is described of destructive pulmonary tuberculosis followed immediately by sarcoidosis. It is suggested that one of the causes of sarcoidosis might be an altered and so far unrecognized tubercle bacillus. By assuming the existence of such an agent, a logical explanation can be given of the unusual features of this case and of all the peculiarities in the behavior of sarcoidosis.
