Abstract
A culture medium consisting of whey, peptone, NaCl and CaCO3 was inoculated with Bad. caucasicum. During the first 3 days semicarbazide hydrochloride was added in small amounts. At the end of 14 days the mixture was boiled and filtered, treated with oxalic acid to remove the Ca, evaporated in vacuo and extracted with ethyl ether to remove lactic acid. A precipitate was secured which was separated into 2 fractions by crystallization. These were identified as the semicarbazone of pyruvic acid and the disemicarbazone of methyl glyoxal.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
