Abstract
The new brachiospongid hexactinellid sponge Vaurealispongia perforata is described from the Upper Ordovician Vauréal Formation from the northern part of the island. The closely related new genus, Twenhofelella, is proposed and T. anticostiana (Twenhofel 1928) is re-described from the Middle Silurian Jupiter Formation in the southern part of the island. Both Vaurealispongia and Twenhofelella are included in the Pelicaspongiidae. These sponges, with Hindia cf. fibrosa and Archaeoscyphia boltoni Rigby and Nitecki 1973, constitute the known representatives of the Porifera from the island. Keywords
