CHANGES IN ARTERIAL OXYGENATION AND PHYSIOLOGICAL DEADSPACE UNDER ANAESTHESIA

Abstract
Inspiratory: expiratory ratios were varied during constant volume ventilation of patients undergoing peripheral vascular surgery. There were no significant changes in alveolar-arterial oxygen tension differences (A-aPo2), arterial oxygen tension (Pa2) or physiological deadspace/tidal volume ratio (VD/VT per cent) during 2½ hours anaesthesia.
