Abstract
Excitons in a double-quantum-well structure, consisting of two wells separated by a thin barrier, are studied. Binding energies and oscillator strengths of the exciton ground state are calculated as a function of the barrier width and the well width. It is shown that the barrier width and the barrier height give the significant influence on the dimensional character of excitons through the change of the distribution of the subband wave function. Keywords
