Abstract
A 24 yr old man acquired a color vision defect shortly after the back of his head was struck in an accident. The Farnsworth-Munsell 100-hue test showed the patient had poor color discrimination in both eyes. Color matches on the Nagel anomaloscope suggested a red/green disturbance. Increment threshold tesing demonstrated an absence of the blue mechanism. Field sensitivity measurements confirmed foveal vision was mediated by the red or green mechanism. This case had similarities and differences to acquired color vision defects secondary to cortical trauma.
