Dielectric relaxation in solutions of two poly(alkyl isocyanate)s

Abstract
Measurements of dielectric relaxation on dilute solutions of poly(n-butyl isocyanate) and poly(n-hexyl isocyanate) indicate that the molecular chains exist as bent rod-like entities at degrees of polymerization below 103 but exhibit increasing curvature above this value. The molecular curvature increases with increasing temperature. The solution measurements do not suggest that the molecules exist in the tight helical structure observed in the solid state.
