Abstract
The mycelia and conidia of Fusarium oxysporum Schl. emend. Snyd. et Hans, and F. roseum (Lk.) emend. Snyd. et Hans, were analyzed for fatty acids. The major fatty acids present were 18:1, 18:2, and 16:0 with lesser amounts of 18:0, 18:3, and 14:0. The conidia of F. roseum contained trace amounts of 18:0 whereas the conidia of F. oxysporum contained more 18:0 than any other fatty acid. The mycelia of F. roseum contained 4 times as much 18:3 as did the mycelia of F. oxysporum. The amount of each fatty acid present was always higher in the mycelia than in the conidia. Keywords
