Abstract
The Parisi replica symmetry breaking scheme is considered for spin glass models without reflection symmetry (e.g. Potts glass, uniaxial quadrupolar glass). It is shown that the retention of all the quartic terms in the free energy functional allows one to demonstrate the invalidity of naive applications of Parisi's scheme to such models. Keywords
