Abstract
A manufacturing resource planning system provides a vertically and horizontally integrated set of plans for each level of management and for each of the supporting areas of the organization. Computer simulations are used to generate these coordinated plans. Thus, a total system model is available for simulating alternative actions and evaluating the effects of each strategy of the business enterprise. The input requirements, benefits, and problems associated with such a planning and control system are also discussed. Keywords
