Abstract
Extracts of rat liver and guinea pig kidney form carbon dioxide when incubated anaerobically with o-hydroxyphenylalanine; it was suggested that L-o-hydroxyphenylalanine was a substrate of dihydroxyphenylalanine decarboxylase. o-Hydroxy-phenylalanine was found to be a substrate of the D-amino acid oxidase of pig kidney and of the L-amino acid oxidase of cobra venom.
