Abstract
Relationship status is linked to well-being. Compared with persons not in relationships, those in relationships report enhanced positive well-being (Bell & Weinberg, 1978; Wood, Rhodes, & Whelan, 1989). Furthermore, the dissolution of a relationship is perceived as one of the most stressful life events (Dohrenwend, Krasnoff, Askenasy, & Dohrenwend, 1978; Kurdek, 1991a).
