Abstract
A method for evaluating the effectiveness of different feature combinations and training strategies is described. Preliminary tests have been made using two groups of feature combinations derived from SPOT High Resolution Visible (HRV) data and two sets of training samples. The method is objective, and needs no ground confirmation or interaction from the image analyst. It is recommended as a surrogate for detailed accuracy assessment when attempting to find an optimum set of training pixels or feature combinations for image classification. Keywords
