Abstract
A 1.4-2.7 GHz monolithic vector modulator with continuous amplitude and phase control has been developed. Each state within a full 360° phase range and a dynamic range >15 dB is generated by combining two of three vectors which have variable amplitude and 120° apart. The control in amplitude for the three vectors is performed by sets of two MESFETs working as dual-gate MESFETs, and the phase shift of 120° for these vectors is obtained through LC filters over the 1.4-2.7 GHz band. The circuit will be used as the control node in a crossbar beam forming network (CBFN).Keywords
