Abstract
Detn. of the acid phosphatase in 40 benign hyperplastic prostate glands, homogenized in the Waring blendor, revealed an avg. of 2300 units per g. of tissue. Analyses on 5 specimens of normal glands revealed lower values. It is concluded that the hyperplastic prostate fully maintains its specific function of acid phosphatase production. Keywords
