Abstract
Elastic and inelastic scattering of charged particles by helium atoms is analyzed in the Glauber approximation. Applications are made to the differential cross sections for electronhelium elastic scattering, and the predictions are compared with the first Born approximation and with measurements between 100 and 500 eV. At small momentum transfers the calculated intensities for elastic scattering are significantly greater than those obtained from the Born approximation. Keywords
