Abstract
In an attempt at secondary prevention of shoulder and neck pain, a participant was taught to use short relaxation-gymnastic pauses frequently while at work. The intervention was implemented in an ABAB design. Results showed that during baseline conditions pain and fatigue increased progressively during the course of the day. However, during relaxation-gymnastics no such increase in either fatigue or pain was observed. This provides support for the idea that relaxation-gymnastics may help prevent the development of pain and discomfort. Further work to elucidate the utility of relaxation-gymnastics is warranted. Keywords
