Abstract
The central dark line observed in enamel crystallites has been studied by transmission electron microscopy. Lattice images and microdiffraction show it to be a single 100 plane of the hydroxyapatite structure whose appearance depends on specific diffraction conditions. The nature and significance of the central dark line as indicated by these studies are discussed. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
