Abstract
The quantum transport theory of electronic conduction in the presence of a strong magnetic field is extended to the case of an applied alternating transverse electric field. The ac magnetoconductivity is calculated for a long-wavelength electric field, taking into account the electron-electron interaction and randomly distributed elastic inpurities. The results are in agreement with known expressions for the conductivity in both the dc quantum limit and the classical case. The quantum effects of sharp levels, oscillatory behavior in the magnetic field, etc., are all contained in the expression for the dielectric function. Screening effects, both static and dynamic, are automatically included in the formalism. Keywords
