Abstract
A new class of exact spatially inhomogeneous cosmological solutions of the Einstein field equations is presented in which the source of the gravitational field is an irrotational fluid with heat flow. The solutions can be considered as generalisations of a subclass of the Szekeres solutions. In the most general case the fluid has non-zero pressure and heat flow and the cosmological constant is also non-zero. A comprehensive analysis of the initial singularity structure and the evolution in time of a subclass of the solutions is given as well as some discussion of the thermodynamic behavior of the models. Keywords
