Twenty-five patients were observed with a uniform eruption consisting of discrete keratotic follic ular papules distributed mainly over the extremities. Histologically each lesion represented a dilated hair follicle plugged with keratinous material and masses of aecrotic crust. The follicular epithelium showed single or multiple areas of perforation into the corium. For this eruption the name of "perforating folliculitis" is proposed.
