Abstract
This paper investigates the most general longitudinal vibrations of an elastic tube partly filled with liquid. From the rather complicated exact solution of the problem, a simple approximate formula is derived for the reduction of the velocity of sound in the liquid due to the vibrations of the wall of the tube. Keywords
