Abstract

WILDFIRE is a commercial reconfigurable computer architecture based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology. Programmers achieve high processing performance by rapidly modifying the internal hardware architecture through software to efficiently accommodate the specific processing needs of an applications. The WILDFIRE hardware and the accompanying software environment for application development and runtime operation are presented.
