Abstract
Neutron diffraction studies on stressed antiferromagnetic Mn-Cu alloys reveal previously unobserved structure to the diffuse peak. With the scattering vector K parallel to the stress aixs sigma a cusp-like peak is observed at 001 whereas with K perpendicular to sigma a rounded peak near 11/20 is found. The cusp-like feature is consistent with spin-wave scattering and the rounded peak with magnetic defect scattering. Keywords
