Frequency-response measurements of diffusion of xenon in silicalite-1

Abstract
The diffusion of xenon in silicalite-1 has been measured using two frequency-response (f.r.) methods: (i) full frequency range and (ii) single step. Diffusion coefficients determined at 195 and 273 K and at equilibrium sorption pressures of 1–10 Torr have been compared with those determined by pulsed field gradient NMR and molecular-dynamics simulation methods. The activation energy for diffusion of xenon in silicalite-1 determined by both f.r. methods agrees well with that obtained by NMR but not with that calculated by molecular dynamics.
