Abstract
As part of a study of the chemical basis for the symbiotic relationship between the attine ants and their food fungi, we excavated systematically numerous nests of Atta colombica tonsipes Santschi (det. N. A. Weber) in the Panama Canal Zone during July and August 1966. During these excavations we made numerous observations on this relatively unstudied species which may be of interest to entomologists. The nests examined were along the U.S. Navy Pipe Line Road, near Gamboa, C.Z.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
